LEAGUE OF FRIENDS OF NOBLE’S HOSPITAL present a cheque to the MANX BREAST CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

Members of the League of Friends of Noble’s Hospital congratulate the Manx Breast Cancer Support Group on their fund raising success in enabling a new dedicated breast care unit to be added to Noble’s Hospital, and presented them with a cheque for £8,000.  This is to cover the cost of the new Ultrasound Room.

The League of Friends has funded both the Ultrasound Room and the Ultrasound Machine, using money bequeathed to the League by Mrs. Olive June Serridge, this money being specifically intended for breast care.

Dr. Rebecca Miller, Consultant Radiologist who has a special interest in breast care, showed members of the League of Friends around the unit, and explained the benefits of the new Ultrasound Machine.

The League of Friends is a charity that principally buys items for patients’ comforts.  The League also buys Christmas presents and Easter Eggs for every patient who is in hospital then.  Some equipment for the hospital is also purchased by the League and everything that is bought is made possible by money that has been left to the League, mainly in legacies and donations.
